2017 BRIDGING THE DIVIDE: From Autonomy to TeamworkFriday, November 3, 20178:30 am - 12 pm
Health care is collaborative, requiring skills as a team member and as a team leader. Highly reliable care involves understanding how each individual makes mistakes, how we can be accountable to ourselves and others for minimizing the opportunity for error, and how to influence others to change when patient safety is at stake.
• Explore highly reliable care, including how good decisions are made, and the principles of highly reliable organizations.
• See the connections between system leadership goals and what happens at the patient care level – and how those goals must be translated into specific individual and team behaviors at the front lines.
• Learn how strengths that contributed to success in pre-medical and medical training can become liabilities when teamwork is required.Presenter(s): Barry Silbaugh, MD, MS, FAAPLLocation:
